Prime Video released a teaser trailer for the new spin-off series Ballard, a spin-off of Bosch: Legacy, which is a continuation of the original series Bosch, based on the Michael Connelly novels. Got that? The series finale of Bosch: Legacy is this week and we caught up with series star Titus Welliver (Bosch) and asked him a couple of questions about the last episode.

Check it out below:

The Bosch franchise began with Michael Connelly’s first novel, The Black Echo, published in 1992. Since then, Harry Bosch has become one of the most iconic detectives in modern fiction, known for his tenacity, moral code, and deeply human flaws.

In 2014, Amazon adapted the character into a series starring Titus Welliver as the gruff but brilliant LAPD detective. The original Bosch series ran for seven seasons, receiving critical acclaim for its gritty realism and compelling narrative.

By the time Bosch concluded in 2021, it had developed a cult following and opened the door for a spin-off, Bosch: Legacy which continued Bosch’s story outside of the LAPD and laid the groundwork for future expansions.

But with Bosch: Legacy concluding and a new series spotlighting Detective Renée Ballard on the horizon, a fresh chapter is beginning. So what does this mean for loyal viewers and new fans alike? Prime has the answer with the first teaser released this week. Hit play below.

Detective Renée Ballard, played by Maggie Q is no stranger to readers of Michael Connelly’s novels. First introduced in The Late Show (2017), Ballard is a fierce, independent LAPD detective with a sharp mind and a strong sense of justice. Welliver has stated that there are no plans for him to appear on multiple episodes of the new series and he may be too busy working on that Equalizer back door pilot but that does not stop fans from hoping to see him in the role again throughout this new series run.

Stay tuned for updates on the Ballard series, and if you haven’t already, binge Bosch and Bosch: Legacy because justice never sleeps in Los Angeles.
