FOX Renews The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers & Family Guy, American Dad! to Return

Animation Domination is going strong on FOX. The network has announced that American Dad! will be returning to the network now that TBS will basically be shutting down and the announcements did not stop there. The network renewed Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons and American Dad! for four seasons each.

Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network, said in a statement Wednesday, “This new deal celebrates the eternal popularity of these iconic comedies, as well as the enduring, prolific relationship we continue to enjoy with our friends at 20th Television Animation and the brilliant creators – that goes double for Seth this time around — and incredible voices behind these contemporary classics.”

With this renewal each show will have an additional sixty episodes (each episode being a half hour). The Simpsons will be at Season 40, Bob’s Burgers at Season 19, Family Guy at Season 27 and American Dad! at Season 23 going into 2029. Sheesh. Fans of these animated shows must be ecstatic.

Personally, I used to love Family Guy but feel the newer episodes do not live up to the older seasons. I have not watched in a while so perhaps the series is back on track to what I am used to from Seth McFarland. Family Guy premiered on January 31, 1999 and was canceled a few times at Fox before finally becoming secure and a hit for the network.

We all know about The Simpsons, which originally aired in 1987 and apparently is very lucrative for Jennifer Tilly (if you know, you know). Bob’s Burgers launched on Fox on January 1, 2011. At this point we need a mega crossover with all the animated shows.

So, what do you think of this news? Are you happy American Dad! lives on with the rest of Animation Domination? Drop a comment and let us know your thoughts and vote in our poll.
