During the Star Wars celebration over the weekend in Japan, some major tea was spilled that should have fans jumping up and down. Ahsoka is coming back for season 2 which we already knew but the popular character and now tv series streaming on Disney+ has announced (that one of the most anticipated pieces of news is confirmed) Hayden Christensen returns as Anakin Skywalker.
For years, Hayden Christensen’s portrayal of Anakin Skywalker was met with mixed reviews. However, he quickly became a fan-favorite. His return to the Star Wars franchise has been met with cheers from fans.
His appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi was the most talked about news amongst fans when it first dropped. Now, with the announcement that he’ll return for Ahsoka Season 2, fans are again all a buzz. In the first season of Ahsoka, we saw flashbacks and Force ghost appearances from Anakin. Season 2 promises even more, with Christensen reprising his role in ways that will continue to explore his complex relationship with Ahsoka Tano, his former Jedi Padawan.
Of course specifics about Ahsoka Season 2 will remain with the creatives, we fans can guess what is expected that are likely to shape Anakin’s return. In the current timeline, he’s dead, so one can safely assume, more flashbacks and Anakin as a Force Ghost.

Ahsoka’s story is tightly woven to her former master, and the unresolved emotional complexities between the two could form the heart of her arc in Season 2. How will Ahsoka cope with her own past while facing new challenges in the galaxy? The presence of Anakin, even in ghostly form, will likely provide Ahsoka with the wisdom and closure she needs to confront her personal demons.
Aside from Hayden Christensen, Ahsoka Season 2 will see Rory McCann (Game of Thrones) replace the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, a fallen Jedi who was stranded on the planet Peridea.
